My 12 yr. old had a tough year, which means I had a tough year, too. I was desperate for support from other Moms but couldn't figure out how to get the support I needed, while respecting my child's privacy. Instead, I found support from books, life coaching, and a few doctors. Now I am ready to offer to others what I so desperately needed: a pro-active, educational way to support ourselves and our teens while maintaining their privacy. If this sounds right for you, please join me.
Educators, parents, entrepreneurs, and technologists, Let's share thoughts and actions about helping teens become better learners. If you believe shifting the bell shaped curve so more high school grads have the skills and attitudes to succeed in college and life, join us.
Children and teens today lead lives full of stress. They are under pressure to perform, pressure to get good grades, and social pressure from their peers. At the same time parents have their own stresses to do with the practicalities of life. We come together at least once a month for fun and interactive workshops (for 8-13 year olds) where kids are in a safe, structured and nurturing environment and they can have some fun. Each workshop is led by a professional. We play games, and learn f …

Innovative, teaching-focused scholars will i …

No parent should be alone in raising their challenging child. It truly takes a community to raise a child. Whatever labels we've had to attach to our child to describe them to our society, they are still individuals. There is no complex child manual, and still not a lot of educational material. I believe part of "winning" in this game of parent hood with our child is educating ourselves, some of the best education comes from other parents. You're not a bad parent.
